Safety

Your safety is our top priority. Here is how we keep the community safe and what you can do to protect yourself.

In an emergency, call 999

If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, call 999 (or 112). For non-emergency police matters, call 101.

Verified members only

Every member must confirm they are an adult (18+) living within five miles of Frome town centre before they can take part. We check postcodes using official data and review proof-of-address documents. However, postcode verification does not equal a DBS check or professional qualification check — always use your own judgement when arranging exchanges.

Meeting safely

  • Meet in public first. For your first exchange with someone new, choose a public place like a cafe, the library, or a community centre.
  • Tell someone. Let a trusted friend or family member know where you are going and who you are meeting.
  • Trust your instincts. If something does not feel right, you can decline or cancel an exchange at any time. You do not have to give a reason.
  • Keep personal details private. Never share banking details, passwords, or sensitive documents. Arrange meeting places through the app's messaging rather than sharing your home address.
  • Use qualified trades for safety-critical work. Electrical work, gas fittings, structural building, and similar regulated tasks are not permitted on the platform. Always use a qualified professional for these.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, listing, and message has Report and Block controls. Reports are private and sent directly to the administrators. You can also block another member to prevent them from contacting you or seeing your listings.

Reports are time-stamped and prioritised. Safeguarding concerns are treated with the highest urgency. The reporter's identity is not shared with the reported person.

Disabled service categories

The following are disabled at launch for your safety and legal protection:

  • Childcare, babysitting, and unsupervised contact with children
  • Care of vulnerable adults and personal care
  • Regulated healthcare and clinical or medical advice
  • Counselling and therapy
  • Legal and tax advice
  • Gas work, electrical installations, and structural building work
  • Roofing and working at height

These categories may be considered in the future with appropriate professional checks, DBS eligibility, and insurer or legal approval. A simple verified postcode is not a DBS check.

Safeguarding contact

The designated safeguarding lead contact details will be published here once the service is fully configured:

[SAFEGUARDING_LEAD_CONTACT — to be supplied by the operator]

If you have a safeguarding concern about another member, please report it through the app or contact the safeguarding lead directly.
